Indira Varma is a very well known English actress. Her father is a native of India and mother is Swiss. She had been a member of Musical Youth Theatre Company before adopting acting as her full time profession. Indira received her graduation in 1995 from Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.

Soon after graduation, she started appearing on innumerous television shows and movies etc. In 1997, Indira Varma made an appearance on ‘Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love’ and in 2004, the lady was seen on ‘Bride and Prejudice’. In the season 1 of Rome, Indira portrayed the young Roman wife Niobe. She was also seen in an episode of the  season 2 of Rome.

In 2006, she was seen on two episodes of ‘Torchwood‘, namely Everything Changes and The Keep Smiling Suzie. On the CBS medical drama 3 Lbs, Indira Varma was seen portraying the character of Dr. Adrienne Holland. Among her other notable appearances are ‘Clancy’s Kitchen’, ‘’Crucial Tales: Phoenix’, ‘Sixth Happiness’, ‘Jinnah’,Zehn wahnsinnige Tage, Other people’s Children, Sci-Fright, In a Land of Plenty, Attachments, Mad Dogs, Rockface, The Canterbury Tales, Reversals, The Quatermass Experiment, Love Soup, A Waste of Shame, Broken News, Little Britain, Bring Something Back: The Making of the Quartermass Experiment, Bride and Prejudice Revisited, Basic Instinct 2, The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, Sex and Death 101, The Whistleblowers, Comanche Moon, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Bones, The Finest and Moses Jones etc.

In addition to TV and movies, Indira Varma is a very well known name in Theatre world as well. In 1997, she was seen as Bianca in Shakespeare’s Othello at the National Theatre. She next became a part of Di Trevis’s NT stage adaptation of Pinter’s The Proust Screenplay, ‘Remembrance of Things Past’. In the summer 0f 2001, Indira played the role of Gila on ‘One for the Road’. In the following year, she performed as Sasha Lebedieff on Ivanov. In 2004, Indira played the part of Sabina on ‘The Skin of Our Teeth’. Her next stage appearance was on ‘The Vertical hour’ in which she portrayed the role of Nadia Baliye. In 2009, Indira Varma would be seen on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night as Olivia.

Indira Varma was seen portraying the character of Niobe, wife of Lucius Vorenus on ‘Rome’. Her character was of a gorgeous lady who was completely devoted to her family. Her family includes her husband Lucius Vorenus and two daughters. When Lucius went off to war, she raised the gals single handedly. When he returned after several years, it was hard for her to decide how to treat him. Wholly, lady had an important part to play in the storyline of the first season of Rome.
