Kevin McKidd, a Scottish actor, is best known for his appearances on TV shows. Kevin spent the early years of his life in Elgin, Moray, Scotland. He has been a member of the local acting group ‘The Moray Youth Theatre’. He became a member of rock band Plan 9 and toured North of Scotland and enjoyed local success with them. Initially, he was interested to become an engineer so he joined University of Edinburgh. Kevin soon dropped out and joined Queen Margaret College in Edinburgh to study drama. He also joined student theatre company Bedlam Theatre.
On the television series ‘Father Ted’, Kevin portrayed the character of Father Deegan. His other roles include Tommy on ‘Trainspotting’ and Malky Johnson on ‘Small Faces’. In 2004, he appeared as James Hepburn on the BBC series ‘Gunpowder, Treason & Plot’. Kevin McKidd appeared on ‘Kingdom of Heaven’ and next gave his voice to Jezz Torrent on GTA: Vice City. On Neil Marshall’s horror movie ‘Dog Soldiers’, David portrayed Pvt. Cooper. In 2005 BBC drama ‘The Virgin Queen’, he was seen portraying the character of Thomas Howard, the 4th Duke of Norfolk. In 1998, he became a part of ‘Looking after Jo Jo’ and gained the role of Basil, a drug dealer cohort of Carlyle’s eponymous character. He also appeared on ‘Hannibal Rising’, a prequel of ‘Silence of the Lambs’. In 2007, Kevin McKidd joined Journeyman as the leading character. On the fifth season of ‘Grey’s Anatomy‘, Kevin portrayed Owen Hunt on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’.
As of now, Kevin McKidd is married to Jane Parker. They’re living with their two children, Joseph and Iona, in London, England.
